Pikmi Pops PushMiUps Series 3 Mystery Pack

Inside this Pikmi Pops surprise plush toy

Pushmiups are the squashable branch of the family. Press the little scented plush animal down into its base and it springs back up — a fidget toy that happens to be a collectible. Series three is the run with the widest cast, so the surprise inside has the most ways to go, and the season marking is printed on the base.

They sit oddly between the pops and the plush: there is a reveal, but the toy keeps working after it. Girls tended to keep one on a desk and the rest in a drawer. No welcome card, just a printed sleeve with the roster. Years later the springs still hold, which is more than can be said for most novelty toys of that era. Cute, super tactile, and a cool thing to play with while reading — the friend you fidget with rather than the one you display. The magic is mechanical here, not olfactory.

How it works

PushMiUps borrow the body of a push up ice lolly. The scented mini plush sits under a layer of confetti; pushing the base up fires the confetti out first and the plush second. It is a one time trick and it is the whole reason the line exists.

Series 3 scents

Marshmallow, chocolate, bubblegum and blueberry. The pack also holds a surprise message, a dangler string and the confetti itself.

Fair warning

Open it over a table. The confetti travels further than you expect.
